Advertising does not work as well for small businesses?

From The Farmington Networking Millionaire Group… Has anyone else found the advertising does not work as well for small business? I am thinking small business do not have the capital to have worth while ad campaigns. I maybe wrong, but I thought I’d put it out there.  David Graham David, my thought would be just the opposite.  Since the introduction of the internet, in particular paid adverting, the playing field in my opinion is more level that it has ever been.  A small local business can put together an effective Pay Per Click campaign for under $200 dollars a month viewed by hundreds if not thousands of targeted consumers in their marketplace.  As more traditional channels of advertising (Radio, TV & Print) have been lessened in terms of their scope and cost efficiency digital advertising has grow leaps and bounds.  2010 was the first year in which internet advertising surpassed print advertising in dollars spent. My question is are we really discussing advertising or marketing?  If it is indeed the latter this in my opinion is where, through no fault of their own, many small businesses are unaware and for the most part untrusting when it comes to digital marketing and the internet.  Would you choose to advertise a product for people who have lost their hearing on the radio.?. Of course not, that would just be a poor use of advertising dollars. Of course this example given is way over simplified… Today more than ever you can find your target audience with less effort and cost. With that being said many business owners are unaware of just how effective and targeted they can be in their marketing efforts. I speak from experience in my business I provide integrated marketing solutions for small to medium sized businesses.  With the advent of mobile advertising, now coupled with the catalysis of social media marketing, building brand awareness and social proof is so very affordable. Have you noticed that larger companies and brands are now directing their audience to their social network properties like Facebook instead of their websites? Good reason is that they can spend fewer dollars, gain more insight into their target audience while at the same time build trust and brand loyalty.  Don’t have the exact numbers in front of me but product and service recommendations from friends (or reviewer) carry increasingly more gravity as we become more interconnected via the digital platform. It’s hard to believe that with the paid advertising (PPC), search engine optimization (SEO), social media and mobile marketing opportunities prevalent today a business would not be able to come up with a low cost solution to advertise and market themselves effectively.  Just my thoughts… Ashlyn crystalkleersolutions.com

Years ago, advertising did not really work as good for small businesses!! But today, advertising catapults small businesses! As a small business owner, I am more eager than ever to launch my ad campaign! The risk is low and the reward is somewhere in the sky! It is somewhat of a level playing field, and I’m glad to be in the game!!
